Airshow 2015 - Avalon Fly-In - 2015-02-21
The Australian International Airshow is an event held at Avalon Airport
every two years. This event is a bit different to what we have done in the
past. Generally we do a group flight from point to point, but for this event
simply select a flight in our network that sees you arrive in Avalon Airport
(YMAV). The aim is for you to touch down in Avalon at 0800z thats
1900AEDT/1800AEST/1600WST. PUG502 Peter Matters will be on ATC and i am sure
he will feel the pressure with aircraft coming in from all angles with the
same arrival time of 0800z into Avalon. To add to the RallyeAir flights i
will be sending this email onto Adam James to invite the Australian Virtual
Airlines Members as well as all IVAO Members to participate.
After much discussion we have seen the majority of our Members will be using
the Airshow plug-in for ORBX FTX Avalon Scenery, As this scenery has
aircraft parked on taxiways and people all over the field, Peter on ATC will
be following the real world AIP Sups. The links for the Sups are below. The
main points from the Sup that will affect our operations are:
- Parts of Taxiway A are closed, If RWY18 is active a
backtrack on RWY18 will be required to exit on taxiway B - 60mins of holding fuel will be required depending on
the event turnout and exiting aircraft from the runway - If there is an aircraft departing off Runway 18 and
you have just landed you will need to exit on taxiway C, make a u-turn
and hold short of RWY18 while the aircraft departs before entering to
backtrack to taxiway B

The Israel division invites you to join us in our main weekly event called the "Shabat Flight", which means Saturday flight. The event usually starts at 17:00 UTC (While DST: 16:00 UTC) for three hours until 21:00 UTC (23:00 UTC+2). During the event we encourage all pilot members and controllers to join. Each week we also select a special mission or theme to make the event interesting and challenging. You are welcomed to fly with us over the amazing sites in Israel: over the skies of the Mediterranean sea, the Negev desert or the lowest point on earth by the Dead Sea!
