Aruba's DC3 fly-in is a tribute to this wonderful and historic aircraft. With its cruise speed of about 207 mph and range of 1,500 miles it revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Its lasting effect on the airline industry and World War II makes it one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made. Many of the DC3's flying today are over 70 years old. There is speculation that the DC-3 may become the first airliner to see over a century of operation!
