Every year, many citizens in African countries commemorate the annual anniversary of founding the Organization of African Unity (OAU), which was in Addis Ababa on May 25, 1963. This date, May 25, has been retained as a celebration of African unity. The Sudanese division would like to celebrate the Africa Day this year by organizing an event in cooperation with IVAO HQ and all African divisions.
In this event, all Africa will be online and pilots have to fly from an African to another African airport. We have a list of certain airports and we have their charts as well. All pilots will get the Aviation Celebration Tours and Events Award and one point for the Pilot Events Award per flight, so pilots will get a point for every flight that they will do. Also, all controllers will be awarded with the ATC Events Award.

17:00 - [AE] Dubai Single Runway operations
Due to much needed maintenance Dubai (OMDB) will be reduced to a single runway May 27th 17z-20z. At the same time essential maintenance will be carried out on the ILS system. Pilots and controllers will need to pay extra attention and rely on RNAV (GNSS) approaches.
The ILS will not be operational and ATC will NOT be clearing you to intercept the ILS. For this event you will need to be able and ready to accurately fly the RNAV (GNSS) approach to the active runway. You will need to understand your particular aircraft and how to correctly setup and execute an RNAV approach.
No bookings required - fly to or from wherever you want. We suggest Doha OTHH as a good option for short flights.
