16:30 - [IR] Persian Gulf National Day Event
Iranian people celebrate the Persian Gulf National Day on 30 April (10 Ordibehesht). The Islamic Republic of Iran designated 30 April as the "National Day of Persian Gulf", since the date coincides with the anniversary of Shah Abbas' successful military campaign against the Portuguese navy in the Persian Gulf, driving the Portuguese colonial forces out of the Strait of Hormuz in the Capture of Ormuz (1622). IVAO Iran proudly presents the Persian Gulf National Day Event which will be held on 30 April 2014 at 16:30 UTC in Tehran FIR. The planned origin is Tehran-Mehrabad International Airport, the major airport of Iran and the destination is Asaloyeh-Persian Gulf International Airport. The whole country will be staffed.
Pilots participating in this special event will get the "Aviation Celebration Tours and Events" award from the IVAO IRAN HQ and the Controllers will be awarded with the "Great Division User" badge.
